GIGSCHOOL.COM
PRESENTS OUR NEXT
MASTER CLASS SEMINAR!

saturday september 30th, 2017 in tustin, ca

INTRODUCTION

What separates GigSchool.com from other online music learning programs is the face to face interaction with our professional instructors. You’re not just buying a video library. You’re investing in a custom built learning experience and mentorship tailored to your own proficiency level.

It’s been said that “Preparation makes it’s own luck,”  “Success occurs when opportunity meets preparation” and “The expert in anything was once a beginner.”

So how do you prepare to follow your dreams? You need to be taught with the right combination of head and heart. Technique is great, but without feel it's nothing. Virtuosity is great, but without groove it's nothing. Music theory is great, but without soul it's nothing…

At GigSchool.com, we prepare the musical heart, mind and soul of our students by giving him or her the tools to follow their dreams.

Tools such as:

1) Groove, Feel and Soul
2) Ear Training
3) How to Listen/Transcribe Music
4) Reading Music
5) Music Theory
6) Technique
7) Composition and Repertoire
8) Using Music Computer Software such as Logic, Pro Tools, etc.
9) Writing Charts and Scoring
10) The Best Way to Practice

There’s a lot more than just being a great musician that goes into getting a gig or getting bookings as an artist. At GigSchool.com, we’ve been there. We’ve been the ones competing to get the gig or to get bookings as an artist and we’ve been the one’s doing the hiring, so we know the most common problem musicians have is the “He/ she is a great player BUT...” complaint.

How do we know? Because a majority of the time the people hiring you, booking you, or at least recommending you are other musicians!

Our job is to help you remove any obstacles that would keep you from succeeding, which is why we go beyond preparation into career competition and sustain.

Master classes about the music business in everything from gig seeking etiquette, to advertising and self promotion, to building word of mouth reputation in a technological age, to using booking agents and record promoters are taught by respected artists and musicians that have been there is key to helping you overcome those obstacles.

Gigs, bookings, recommendations, a great reputation and success can all be short lived unless you know how to sustain your career. Success in sustaining your career is dependent upon your value as a musician, as a composer and as an artist. With so much competition in the internet age, it’s more important than ever to stand out from the crowd, and the music business has never had more of a “what have you done for me lately?” mentality.

That’s why we feel it’s so important for GigSchool.com to have master classes in staying relevant and reinventing yourself musically, staying on top of music technology and trends, and developing life-long career relationships in what can be an impersonal, “more screen time than face time” modern world.

Things like, if say you are an artist and/or guitarist or vocalist, to be able speak exactly and confidently in a “drummer’s language” or a “recording engineer’s language” by knowing enough about their instrument or technology so you can to communicate what you want musically, or to be able to interpret exactly what a producer or another artist wants musically, even if they aren’t a schooled musician, make a huge difference in sustaining your career.

The more you know about all aspects of music, including other people’s jobs in the music business, the easier you can communicate knowledgeably, the easier you can communicate knowledgeably, together with a good attitude, the easier you are to work with, the easier you are to work with, together with your talent and musicianship, the more valuable you are as a musician, composer or artist, the more valuable you are as a musician, composer or artist, the more unstoppable you will be in your life-long sustaining musical career.

instructor: C.J. Priamos Ph.D.

C.J. Priamos Ph.D., known to his friends as “The Greek Cowboy”, has been in love with music since his classical education began at the age of 6.  Trained in Guitar, Piano, Vocals, and Mandolin, “Dr. GC” also holds two Doctorates - Clinical Psychology and Computer Science.  Throughout his busy life as a Psychotherapist, Computer Science Engineer, and avid Horseman - Dr. GC has remained a life-long student of a wide range of music...from Country Western to Classical & Baroque,  including Classic Rock/Pop, Contemporary Jazz, and of course....The Blues.

His “musical life” , like so many others, began with private lessons and blossomed from there.  After moving to L.A. from Texas as a boy, C.J. was fortunate enough to spend many years studying with a wide variety of Artists and Instructors.  He trained at the Dick Grove School of Music and later studied Music and Sound Engineering at his Alma Mater, USC in Los Angeles.  Much of his childhood and teenage years were spent at stadium and arena concerts featuring the biggest names of the 70’s & 80’s - but equally important were all the years spent backstage with the Artists themselves...learning much about the“performance” and “business” ends of the music industry.

After L.A., C.J. moved back to Texas and eventually on to Las Vegas where he has remained for the last 18 years.  C.J. has, in recent years, combined his experience with Music, Technology, and Psychology to promote some of the most talented Artists across the broad musical spectrum.  He is a frequent visitor to his ancestral homeland of Greece and many other parts of Europe.  There he teaches Symposiums on Music Theory, Performance Psychology, and the unique challenges of “breaking into the American Music Market.”

It is C.J.’s deeply-held belief that American Music is “appreciated in Europe far more than it is performed” and to that end, has concentrated on bringing the Very Best of American Music Artists to venues such as Greece, The UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, France, Poland, and many others.  Not surprisingly, he also has a firm focus on the Las Vegas market !!!

Over the last 3 decades, CJ has also been heavily involved in Studio work with a wide range of popular artists; from coaching performance issues, to arrangement assistance on songs, to helping solve intra-group differences amongst band members…keeping their 'eyes on the ball’ as he puts it.  In addition, he has brought his own unique understanding of psychology and musical performance to help artists build and maintain the on and off stage personas.  From coaching an artist during a recording session to providing ‘last-minute tune-ups’ immediately prior to taking the stage…CJ brings his own unique style of confidence-building and focus-training to the task.

Just some of the bands he’s consulted with include, The Eagles, Kiss, Motley Crue, Genesis, Toto, Aerosmith, Chicago, INXS, Starship, Styx, Alabama and a wide range of individual Country, Rock and Pop Artists.
